We here at Progressive Air Systems pride ourselves on being a Carrier air conditioner partnered business. Though not many know that Carrier are credited with creating the entire industry in which we work within. Carrier created humanity’s first air conditioner system back in 1902. Which has given them the strategic advantage of perfecting their systems much longer than any other firm in the market.
Carrier Will Work A Revolution.
A young electrical engineer named Willis Haviland Carrier wanted to solve the humidity problem. Workers would endure this in every building in a city. Carrier created a system that treated air inside a building by blowing it across chilled pipes. The air would cool as it passed across the cold pipes. Since cool air can’t carry as much moisture as warm air, the process reduced the humidity in the plant. Reducing the humidity also had the side benefit of lowering the air temperature. Thus, a new technology was created for American consumer in the industrial age of the United States.
Modern systems have three AC parts. The compressor, a condenser, and an evaporator. The compressor packs the cool refrigerant into a hot compressed gas. This passes to the condenser where it extracts the heat, like a radiator in a car, and the refrigerant becomes a liquid. The liquid then will pass along into the evaporator through a tiny hole. By doing so it evaporates into a hot gas again. This process in the HVAC unit absorbs the heat in the surrounding air which gets blown into your house. The refrigerant leaves the evaporator, cooled, and begins the cycle again in the compressor.
